I had the opportunity to spend some years at Sasse College with Ndoko Edwin. He was just one class ahead of me. I mostly remember him as a great soccer player. Strong central defender, his performance during inter-dormitory games and especially the school team were outstanding.
I personally used to compare him to Ndjeya Rene, former Indomitable Lions strong central defender of the 1982 World Cup squad. You couldn’t dribble past him easily. Leaving in the United States, l once again had an opportunity to spend years with him at Soba Dallas until his death. He was one of the rare Soba Dallas members who kept a wonderful atmosphere during our meeting sessions. Extremely jovial, friendly and energetic, Mola Ndoko as we commonly called him played a preponderant role in all Soba Dallas events. His death is a great loss to our Soba Dallas community as it will be difficult for us to replace him.
We will forever remember you, Mola Ndoko.
May your soul rest in peace.
