To my beloved big brother Joe, who left us so soon to be with the Lord, you were more than a big brother to me, you were a friend, a confidant, and a role model. Your generosity, patience, and big heart inspired me every day. I remember our endless discussions and your unconditional support when I arrived in Texas and was struggling to get my papers. You had a way of making things easy, seeing the bright side of life, and making those around your smile.
Even though you are no longer here physically, you will forever remain in our hearts and in my memories of you. You were an extraordinary man, and I will continue to carry you with me and try to follow your example of generosity and kindness.
Rest in peace, Big Joe. I miss you so much. In our last conversations a few months ago, you told me you were coming to Montreal this summer. Unfortunately, I will never see you again. To you the flowers, to us the tears. Lord, accept your child into your embrace.
