Joe, Mehop, di man,
That's how we fondly called him.
We met in CCAST Bambili and he was very, friendly, a social bird, he attracted lots of students to himself fashionable, kind and generous. He was known by almost all in the Bambili, education complex.
When I first met him, I taught he was a lecturer, always well dressed and carried himself as such, only to realize that he was an upper sixth student.
He spoke so highly of Victoria, that we all had to go and visit this VA, and beach city, and the happening town in the 80's. To some of us, Victoria was synonymous to JOE MAHOP.
Social Icon, proud son of Limbe. We thank you for being what you were to lots of us.
A true, and loyal friend he was! When I came to America for studies, we met again in Minnesota. He moved to Dallas, after some time and settled there till he passed on.
He proudly talked about his wife and lovely kids to us, and always talked about his mother mami Etame, and big sister Rosita, he loved his family.
Joe, di man, you made me like Dallas, you took me wherever I wanted to go, and whenever, such a selfless person. When you passed, I felt the void... and know Dallas, will not be the same without you. Chaii!!
Our relationship grew, from strength to strength, when your cousin brother Konde got married to my sister Edith. Weeh, Ambomboh where does the soul of good people go to!! You touched the lives of so many, my daughters, and numerous friends will always miss their lovely " Uncle Joe"
When we together in Dallas October 2025, lest did I know that was the last time I will see you. This is so so sad.
Di man, you lived a good life.
God called you, to come and rest in HIS kingdom.
You will be fondly remembered.
May perpetual light shine upon you, and may God grant you eternal rest.
It is well your soul
Aggie Ndikum.
